Notes from the Winemaker:
White peach, pear aromas; brioche nuances. Mineral, rich and full flavored and complex wine.

Wine Making:
In the old days, there were more vineyards planted in red than white in the Maconnais. But this plot has always been planted white because the land is better suited to a white grape, hence the name.

The soil is calcareous marl and the average age of the vines is 60 years old.
100% barrel fermented and 100% M-L fermentation.

Wine was aged during 12 months in 228-liter French Oak Barrels. Barrels are used 6 years before being changed. While the wine is aged on the fine lees, they practice batonnage once every 10 days for 9 months because it brings fat and finesse to the wine.

Ratings & Reviews

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"This rich wine is full of ripe yellow and melon fruitiness, showing the ripeness of the vintage. It has just the right acidity to balance the opulent fruit and the spice from wood aging. Drink now." - (November 2017)

4 of 5 Lovely & Approachable White Burgundy October 24, 2019
Reviewer: Barbara Rooks from San Francisco, CA United States
This came off as almost New World in style, but in a good way: it offered full m-l flavors, lots of pear, melon, honey and tropical fruit notes with noticeable yet balanced oak. It worked really well with the rich baked chicken dish we paired it with as well.
