Notes from the Winemaker:
These vines were planted by my father in the 60s. They have since been bequeathed by their owner, Mlle Poisard, to the Hospices Civils de Beaune, who have given me a part to farm. The rest of the parcel is cultivated by the Hospices and the wine is sold the day of their famous charity wine auction.

“Les Chevrières” vines are located at the top of the hill in the village of Chaintré, clinging to thin clay soil, rooted in hard limestone stratums.

This is why its name evokes knights and royalty! It comes as no surprise that these big-hearted “Chevrières” wines are always elegant and distinguished. Floral and fruity notes, balanced and lasting, compete with mineral accents to gain the king’s favour as well as your senses! Pleasure ensured with poultry and shellfish-the perfect match for this wine’s complex palate...especially after a few years of patience.

Ratings & Reviews

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrières is superb, unfurling in the glass with aromas of crisp yellow apples, mandarin, pastry cream and frangipane. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and incisive, with racy acids, impressive reserves of structuring dry extract and a long, precise finish. The most tensile and tight-knit of Cornin's 2017s, this is beautifully balanced and built for the cellar—though impatient readers will find plenty of immediate gratification if they pull corks now too." - William Kelley (30th Aug 2019)

94 Points - Decanter:
"Soon to be elevated to premier cru status - and rightly so - the Cornin's top Pouilly-Fuissé comes from iron-rich soils in Chaintré. As ever, the oak is adroitly handled, complementing pithy, racy Chardonnay fruit with a hint of vanilla spice." - Tim Atkin (31 Oct 2018)
