This cuvée has a clear golden hue. The effervescence is long-lasting, with very fine, regular bubbles. The high concentration of Chardonnay makes for a very elegant nose. The start is straight-forward, with a balanced, harmonious body.

Ratings & Reviews

92 Points - The Wine News:
"Fresh toasted baguette aromas with a chalk note. Grilled pineapple and peach flavors with a lick of beer barrel. Flinty, chalky, bone-dry finish."

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"The standard nonvintage from this producer benefits from its policy of blending in a high percentage of older reserve wines. That gives the wine its richness and smooth, ripe character. Hints of apples are still there along with a good balance between acidity and toastiness. Drink now." - Roger Voss (8/1/2018)

91 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"This minerally Champagne is balanced and fresh, with a fine, lively bead and subtle flavors of Asian pear, pastry and pickled ginger. A light toastiness shows on the finish. Drink now through 2021. 2,500 cases imported. - AN (Nov 15, 2017)

90 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"(60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay; 8 g/l dosage; L1234411212): Light gold. Lees-accented orchard and citrus fruit aromas are complicated by sweet butter, iodine and smoky minerals. Dry and expansive on the palate, offering lively pear and melon flavors and a refreshingly bitter touch of orange pith. Ample but lithe brut, with very good finishing punch and repeating smoke and pear qualities." - Josh Raynolds (Jan 2015)

Jamessuckling.com: "An array of peach and citrusy pastry aromas lead to a palate with bright peach fruit flavors and fresh bread dough to close. Smooth, even, neat and easy. Drink now." - (Oct 4, 2017)
