Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - James Suckling:
"A solid wine for the vintage with blueberry, rose-leaf and fresh-herb aromas and flavors. Full body with firm, chewy tannins and a long, structured finish. Needs at least three to four years to soften: Give it time." - (Tuesday, November 17, 2015)

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Muscular and fully loaded, the 2012 Barbaresco Starderi Vürsù delivers a solid and ample bouquet that is built upon generous fruit, spice, licorice and balsam herb. The wine's brawny personality is different from the Barbaresco Valeirano that is more seductive and feminine in personality. Starderi shows more brawn and feistiness." - Monica Larner (29th Jun 2016)

92 Points - Antonio Galloni:
"The 2012 Barbaresco Vigneto Starderi is the most dense and inward of these wines. Kirsch, menthol, raspberry, orange zest, flowers and white peppers all take shape in the glass, but only with some reluctance. Still, the 2012 looks like a wine that will offer its best drinking over the next handful of years, as it doesn't have the breadth and power of the best Starderis." - Antonio Galloni (December 2015)

Wine Spectator Magazine:

"There's a solid structure of acidity and tannins beneath the cherry, strawberry and wild herb flavors. The balance tips toward the astringent tannins in the end. 1,300 cases made." – BS (Web Only - 2015)
