About this Wine:

At Oakville Winery we strive to produce wines that represent our land and its heritage. Our delicious Cabernet Sauvignon is a style that reflects modern Oakville, while at the same time captures the classic flavors of the region. The soft tannins in the wine make it smooth and rich with notes of cassis, cherry and ripe plum. Winemaker Lynn Watanabe creates this wine to be food friendly and ready to drink. Supple on the palate and beautiful notes of vanilla on the nose make this Cabernet a delicious, well - balanced wine.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points & "Cellar Selection" - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Very ripe and extracted, almost jammy, with primary fruit flavors of blackberries, black cherries, red plums, currants, dark chocolate and spices. Delicious and noble, but kind of immature. Give it 4–6 years to soften and integrate, and it could develop even longer."  - S.H.  (10/1/2010)

Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Intense, with ripe floral, wilted rose, wild berry and blueberry notes that are complex and focused. Full-bodied, offering hints of red and black licorice and finishing with firm, ripe, yet chewy tannins. Drink now through 2017. 1,650 cases made." –JL (11/15/2010)

94 Points & "Cellar Selection" - Wine Enthusiast Magazine (2006 vintage):
"This ageworthy Cab merits comparison with some of its far more expensive Oakville neighbors. Dry and balanced, with ultra-refined tannins, it shows complex flavors of creme de cassis, minerals and cedar. Just beautiful. Noteworthy for listing all its ingredients on the back label. Drink now through 2012."  - S.H.  (6/1/2009)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2006 vintage):
"The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals classic, herb-tinged black currant fruit, deep, medium to full-bodied flavors, and attractive opulence, density, and freshness. This very good to excellent Cabernet Sauvignon should evolve nicely for 10-15 years. Two thousand seven has shaped up as a very fine vintage for almost every varietal in California, including the much-maligned Zinfandel."
