Juicy berries, leather, herbs, and chapparal are tell-tale flavors of this Pinot. Earth and herbs underly flavors of freshly picked, perfectly ripe red cherries and blackberries.

Ratings & Reviews

96 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"Violets, a touch of blue fruits, wild strawberries, toasted spices, and a hint of herbes de Provence all emerge from the 2018 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard, another seamless wine that does everything right. Showing the elegance and purity that's the hallmark of the 2018 vintage, it still has ripe tannins, good mid-palate depth, and a great finish. The 2018 comes all from the 667 and Pisoni clones and was brought up in 61% new French oak, although, like all these 2018s, the oak is basically undetectable." - Jeb Dunnuck (5/21/2020)

95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2018 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard, aged 10 months in 61% new French oak, has lovely scents of cranberries, strawberries and blueberries with touches of bergamot and violet. The medium-bodied palate explodes with concentrated, juicy, perfumed fruits, silky in texture and finishing long and lifted. 333 cases produced." - Erin Brooks (30th Oct 2020)

94 Points - Vinous:
"Shimmering ruby-red. Powerful, spice-tinged red berry preserve, cherry and floral pastille scents are complemented by suggestions of vanilla and succulent flowers. Rich and seamless in the mouth, offering sappy, mineral-accented black raspberry, cherry liqueur and fruitcake flavors that become livelier through the back half. Finishes impressively long and subtly sweet, with harmonious tannins building steadily and adding grip to lingering cherry and floral notes. " - Josh Raynolds (Oct 2020)

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Ripe cherry-pie aromas meet with lots of clove, fennel pollen and a hint of chipped slate on the nose of this bottling. The wine lands with the winery's characteristically juicy red fruit on the palate, blending raspberry-sorbet flavors with sharp mace and cinnamon spice, capturing such elements at their peak." Matt Kettmann (9/1/2020)

92 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Big and ripe, with touches of cigar box to the concentrated dark currant, olive and wild herb flavors. Dark chocolate details and hints of roasted meat emerge on the dense, muscular finish. Drink now through 2025. 333 cases made." - KM (Oct 15, 2020)
