Notes from the Winemaker:
Depending on the vintage the grapes come from a combination of 3 vineyards; “El Codo”, “El Llano” and “Finca Iscorta” with an average of 40 years old.

Tasting Notes:
Color: Cherry-red colour and slightly orange rim.
Aromas: intense aroma of ripe fruit, with hints of vanilla and toasted wood, with jam coming through underneath.
Palate: tasty, smooth, pleasant, spicy, very well-balanced and rounded.

Winemaking:
The grapes are destemmed and crushed and fermented naturally with wild yeast in stainless steel tanks. Aged in used American oak for 2 years and hand racked 4 times by means of the traditional “barrel to barrel” method, the wine then ages for at least an additional 18 months in bottle before being released on the market.
The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Variety: 95% Tempranillo – 3% Graciano – 2% Garnacha
Alcoholic degree: 13.6%

Ratings & Reviews

91+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"I loved the textbook 2012 Señorío de P. Peciña Crianza, which has the usual house blend of Tempranillo with 3% Garnacha and 2% Graciano; it was fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured in used American oak barrels for some 24 months with hand racking every six months. It has a great balance between age and youth, modernity and tradition, fruit and spice, balsam and freshness. The palate feels polished, with resolved tannins and very god balance. A great improvement over previous vintages. 100,000 bottles produced." - Luis Gutiérrez (30th Aug 2016)

91 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"(fermented in stainless steel tanks and raised in used American oak barrels for two years, followed by two more years of bottle age before release) Deep ruby. Aromas of ripe red berries, coconut, vanilla and pipe tobacco, accented by a floral element that builds in the glass. Juicy, penetrating and appealingly sweet, offering vibrant raspberry and cherry-vanilla flavors that deepen on the back half. Shows good energy and power on a long, gently oak-spiced finish shaped by harmonious, slow-building tannins." - Josh Raynolds (May 2017)
