Notes from the Winemaker:

Produced solely from vineyards planted on the Santa Caterina hill, an exclusive area of the Tre Rose estate, which sets itself apart for its soils of marine origin with silt, salty clay and sand, unique microclimate influenced by Trasimeno Lake and amphitheater vineyards which enjoy an arrangement of diverse aspects.

Tasting Notes:
Color: Ruby red with purplish reflections
Aroma: An explosion of red fruit reminiscent of brandied cherries, currants, blackberries, bitter orange and myrtle berries.
Taste: A unique sweetness and softness that only Sangiovese grapes form the Montepulciano area can achieve.

Grapes: 100% Sangiovese

Production:
Different expressions of the Sangiovese grape from diverse vineyard parcels within the Santa Caterina Hill vineyard are harvested and fermented separately to differentiate and amplify their particular characteristics. Each selection ages separately in barriques, small 10hl casks or 30-40hl barrels. Only during the final blending stage does the enologist bring together individual selections.

Ratings & Reviews

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"Ripe, round and already enjoyable, this 100% Sangiovese doles out juicy black cherry, crushed plum, white pepper, herb and a hint of orange zest. Fine-grained tannins support the juicy fruit flavors. Drink through 2018." - Kerin O’Keefe (7/1/2015)
