Notes from the Winemaker:

A blend of a number of vineyard blocks I work with at Bien Nacido and Dierberg in Santa Maria Valley along with pieces of my holdings down in the Santa Rita Hills. This wine sees less than 10% new wood and the wine is left to rest on its lees for about a year before it is moved to tank for the last few months prior to bottling to ensure the wine's tension, elegance, and precision.

Alcohol 13.2%
Lemon minerality, Fresh baked bread, Clove

Ratings & Reviews
92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2012 Vintage):
"The straight 2012 Chardonnay Santa Barbara County is a stunner! Coming mostly from the Santa Maria Valley and aged in 10-20% new 500-liter puncheons, it gives up beautiful citrus blossom, orchard fruits, salt block and hints of white flowers to go with a juicy, fresh and lively profile on the palate. Drink this classy Chard over the coming 3-4 years." - Jeb Dunnuck (Aug 2014)

91 Points - Stephen Tanzer (2012 Vintage):

"(made from fruit grown in the Bien Nacido, Dierberg, Sanford & Benedict and Zotovich vineyards): Bright yellow-gold. Mineral-driven citrus and orchard fruit aromas are deepened by suggestions of chamomile, honey and buttered toast. Fleshy and seamless on the palate, offering juicy pear and tangerine flavors and a touch of anise. The toasty note repeats on the finish, which features suave floral and gingery spice qualities." - Josh Raynolds (December 2014)

90 Points - Antonio Galloni (2012 Vintage):
"The 2012 Chardonnay Santa Barbara County shows beautifully today. Lemon, almonds, white flowers and spices meld together in an utterly exquisite Chardonnay to drink now and over the next few years. The Santa Barbara Chardonnay is mostly Santa Maria fruit, with dollops of Sta. Rita Hills." - Antonio Galloni (June 2014)

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2011 Vintage):
"The 2011 Chardonnay is gorgeous. Aged in 10% new French oak and possessing a light gold/green-tinged color, it gives up classic ripe apple, golden creme and crushed rock-like minerality to go with a juicy, racy and medium-bodied palate. Long, elegant and crystalline-like in its aromas, flavors and textural feel, it should benefit from another year in bottle and drink nicely through 2019, possibly longer. Drink 2014-2019." - Jeb Dunnuck (Aug 2013)
