Notes from the Winemaker:
The wine shows a deep garnet color, with aromas of raspberry jam, violet pastil and baking spice. Ripe strawberry and white pepper dominate the lush, round mid-palate. Beautifully integrated oak carries the fruit through the palate to a bright, long finish.

THE VINEYARDS:
This blend combines select vineyards throughout the Russian River Valley with fruit coming from Widdoes, Kozlowski, Mar tinelli, and Gregori along with Gap’s Crown Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast. Together, these vineyards and their various clones create a complex, fruit forward and delicious Sonoma County blend. Clones include Dijon, 667, 777, 115, and Pommard.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Rich and full of dense, concentrated dark plum, black currant, olive and dried savory herb flavors, featuring pencil shaving and cast iron notes. The pure-tasting finished is filled with baker’s chocolate accents. Drink now through 2025. From California." — K.M. (Aug. 7, 2019)

92+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2017 Pinot Noir La Brisa is medium to deep ruby-purple with a lovely nose of rose petal, tangerine peel and potpourri with spicy black and blue fruits at the core. Medium-bodied with a lovely silky texture, it offers intense, concentrated spicy fruit with soft framing tannins and juicy acidity on the finish. 5,430 cases produced." - Erin Brooks (30th Apr 2019)

90 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The 2017 Pinot Noir La Brisa comes from a handful of sites on the Sonoma Coast and spent ten months in 40% new French oak. It's made in decent quantities and offers a first-rate bouquet of spice black cherries, wild strawberries, incense, forest floor, and spice. Rounded, nicely textured, balanced, and undeniably well-made, as well as delicious, it's ideal for readers looking for a high-quality Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir that offers fruit and texture." - Jeb Dunnuck (6/14/2019)
