"Brilliant onion skin. Highly perfumed, mineral-accented aromas of fresh red berries and citrus and pit fruits are complemented by a steadily building floral quality. Silky, focused and energetic on the palate, offering concentrated white peach, melon, strawberry and blood orange flavors that show sharp definition and impressive tension. Expands steadily on the extremely long, focused, mineral-driven finish, which leaves a suave floral note behind." Josh Raynolds - (Aug 2019)

Notes from the Winemaker:
Its dense color can show tints of purple, garnet or ruby. Powerful, delicious and elegant, its red berry bouquet reveals aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and peppery spices in the mouth. They reappear on the palate after the very appealing initial attack. This balanced softness and unctuousness leads up to a silky finish.

This red wine, with its solid structure and seeming rusticity, veils true elegance, borne of poor soils made up of limestone, sandstone and sandy marl. The vineyard enjoys a sunny and particularly dry climate, bathed in the sea air from the Gulf of Bandol.

Grown differently from rosé wine, the Château Romassan vines dedicated to reds are mainly planted with Mourvèdre, a grape variety characterised by its solidity, structure and great capacity for ageing. The main component in this blend, Mourvèdre is combined with the full-bodied texture of Grenache.

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine (2013 Vintage):
"The blend of 55% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 16% Mourvèdre and 4% Cinsaut offers subtle mulberry fruit on the nose, a spicy peppercorn kick and plenty of gamy meats. That funky meat quality, from raw to jerkied, is prominent and pure on the sip, surrounded by exotic plums and Middle Eastern spices." - Matt Kettmann (12/31/2017)

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Randall Grahm's ever-evolving ideology shifted again for the new label and blend of this bottling, which includes 52% Grenache, 35% Cinsault and 13% Syrah. Aromas of plum, cracked pepper, crumpled carnations and dried mint lead into a bright, refreshing palate of hibiscus, anise and a curry-like spice. Matt Kettmann" - (12/1/2019)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2018 Vintage):
"Bottled just a few weeks before my visit, Miraval's 2018 Cotes de Provence Rose was in fine form. A blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 10% Syrah and 10% Rolle, it boasts floral and melon aromas, while on the palate, it's medium-bodied, plump and fleshy, with a zesty, tangerine-tinged finish." - Joe Czerwinski (30th Apr 2019)

About the Wine:
Here is a cuvee with a majority of Mourvèdre and a spicy touch enhanced by fresh and fleshy Grenache and Cinsault. The short fermentation process produces a light wine which perfectly embodies today’s Bandol style.

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"A terrific value, the 2014 Languedoc Cuvee Prestige checks in as a blend of 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah that’s brought up all in tank. It has tons of Mediterranean character in its sweet dark fruits, lavender, damp earth and peppery herb-laced bouquet. This gives way to a full-bodied, sexy, layered 2014 that has plenty of fruit, fine tannin and a hedonistic style that’s just hard to resist. It’s another outstanding vintage for this cuvee that’s well worth a multi-bottle purchase. Drink it over the coming 4-5 years." - Jeb Dunnuck (27th Apr 2016)

93 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The 2016 Saint-Drézéry La Closerie du Pic is a blend of 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah with the Grenache aged all in concrete tanks and the Syrah in new and once used French oak. This beauty offers killer notes of blueberries, blackberries, peppery herbs, earth, and graphite. Silky, full-bodied, with awesome purity of fruit, sweet tannin, and a great finish, it’s another great wine from this estate. It’s going to benefit from a year or two of bottle age and keep through 2026." - Jeb Dunnuck (2/21/2018)
