94 Points - Vinous:
"Brilliant onion skin. Highly perfumed, mineral-accented aromas of fresh red berries and citrus and pit fruits are complemented by a steadily building floral quality. Silky, focused and energetic on the palate, offering concentrated white peach, melon, strawberry and blood orange flavors that show sharp definition and impressive tension. Expands steadily on the extremely long, focused, mineral-driven finish, which leaves a suave floral note behind." Josh Raynolds - (Aug 2019)

Notes from the Winemaker:
Its dense color can show tints of purple, garnet or ruby. Powerful, delicious and elegant, its red berry bouquet reveals aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and peppery spices in the mouth. They reappear on the palate after the very appealing initial attack. This balanced softness and unctuousness leads up to a silky finish.

This red wine, with its solid structure and seeming rusticity, veils true elegance, borne of poor soils made up of limestone, sandstone and sandy marl. The vineyard enjoys a sunny and particularly dry climate, bathed in the sea air from the Gulf of Bandol.

Grown differently from rosé wine, the Château Romassan vines dedicated to reds are mainly planted with Mourvèdre, a grape variety characterised by its solidity, structure and great capacity for ageing. The main component in this blend, Mourvèdre is combined with the full-bodied texture of Grenache.

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine (2013 Vintage):
"The blend of 55% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 16% Mourvèdre and 4% Cinsaut offers subtle mulberry fruit on the nose, a spicy peppercorn kick and plenty of gamy meats. That funky meat quality, from raw to jerkied, is prominent and pure on the sip, surrounded by exotic plums and Middle Eastern spices." - Matt Kettmann (12/31/2017)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Bottled just a few weeks before my visit, Miraval's 2018 Cotes de Provence Rose was in fine form. A blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 10% Syrah and 10% Rolle, it boasts floral and melon aromas, while on the palate, it's medium-bodied, plump and fleshy, with a zesty, tangerine-tinged finish." - Joe Czerwinski (30th Apr 2019)

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"A consistent performer in the Kermit Lynch portfolio, Gros Noré has turned in another fine effort in its 2018 Bandol Rose. Half Mourvèdre, with the balance a blend of Cinsault and Grenache, it's medium-bodied, with a silky-creamy texture and plenty of depth and intensity. Crushed stone accents pineapple and lime notes, and yet the wine comes across as fully ripe and harmonious, with fruit flavors lingering on the finish." - Joe Czerwinski (16th May 2019)

Tasting Notes:
The color is a brilliant deep red color. The nose is full of red fruits, mostly cherries and cassis, with flavors of vanilla, oakiness, and some hints of chocolate. This follows through in the taste which is rich, well balanced, mellow with spices in the beginning, very smooth tanins surrounded with mature red fruits, vanilla and chocolate, and a hint of orange in the end. Very long and smooth after taste.

About the Wine:

Bright ruby color – there are red fruits on the nose; bitter sweet cherries with a hint of dark chocolate. Classic bright red fruits flavors and sweet, spicy notes follow through to the palate. The tannins are soft, the acidity fresh with very long length. Cellared well, it will keep for several years.

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Already in bottle, the 2012 Coteaux du Languedoc Terrasses du Larzac Les Obriers offers fabulous Cinsault character and shows how interesting this variety can be when done right. Incredibly floral and perfumed, with sweet blackberry, violets, lilacs and exotic spices, this medium-bodied, elegant and silky effort builds on the palate, shows notable freshness and a pure, hard-to-resist feel. I’d drink it over the coming 4-5 years, but it will evolve for longer." - Jeb Dunnuck (Apr 2014)
