Robert Parker - 90 Points ('12 vintage):
"A Gewurztraminer-like note
of caraway as well as a salted meat stock savor, help render Rosback’s
2012 Pinot Gris Wy’East highly distinctive. But there is also a luscious
abundance of ripe peach and pineapple. A subtly creamy texture gains
delightful counterpoint from a sense of fresh fruit tang and finishing
brightness that one is unlikely to encounter from this grape in any of
its other most familiar homes. I suspect that this outstanding value
will continue impressing through at least 2015. “We had almost no crop
of Pinot Gris from Wy’East in 2011,” notes Rosback, “and what there was
barely got ripe. We got almost no crop in 2012 either, but I think it’s
the best Pinot Gris I’ve ever made.” -David Schildknecht (Oct 2013)
