Notes from the Winemaker:
This quite atypical Beaujolais Nouveau made using grapes from old vines, is the expression of the Gamay grape at its purest. A very ‘winy’ cuvée, which is all grape and never chaptilised. Dark robe, structured and fleshy on the palate with very ripe black and red berry flavours. This is a top of the range cuvée with character. It is sure to reconcile anybody with Beaujolais Nouveau who’s been disappointed in the past. The complexity of the mouthfeel makes this a true wine that can improve over the winter and be enjoyed right through the summer.

88 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2017 Fleurie Les Marrans from the Domaine des Marrans exhibits pretty aromas of strawberries and raspberries, followed by a medium-bodied, somewhat firm and chewy palate with good depth of fruit that represents a success in a challenging vintage for the appellation." - William Kelley (30th Aug 2019)

"Black cherry and raspberry notes are fresh but concentrated in this supple red, with undertones of tea, white pepper and herb adding depth through the lightly tannic finish. Drink now through 2020. 100 cases imported." - GS (Issue Nov 30, 2019)

91-93+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Darker and more brooding, the 2017 Morgon Côte du Py offers up notes of cassis, blackberry and smoke, having already seemingly digested its new wood. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, large-scaled and chewy, with a wilder, earthier profile than the two Moulin-à-Vents tasted before it." - William Kelley (Sep 2018)

93-95) Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2014 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is 20% whole cluster fruit matured in around 60% new oak. It has a very fragrant bouquet with blackberry and briary scents, nicely detailed and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with fine chalky tannin, well judged acidity and a harmonious, detailed finish that is a real treat. This is a sophisticated and compelling Clos Vougeot from Thibault Liger-Belair." - Neal Martin (Dec 2015)

Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"An exuberantly fresh array of plum, earth and pretty dark currant aromas leads to rich and surprisingly bold flavors that possess very good mid-palate density, all wrapped in a lightly stony and saline finish that is presently youthfully austere. Good stuff here and ageworthy too." - (Jan 2018)

91-93 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:
" An intensely earthy and sauvage-infused nose is composed by notes of dark raspberry, violet and a hint of spice. There is once again fine volume, energy and intensity to the broad-shouldered flavors that possess excellent minerality that really comes up on the relatively refined, balanced and austere finale. This is also sufficiently firm that at least some forbearance will be required." - (Jan 2018)

94-96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2016 Richebourg Grand Cru includes 30% whole cluster fruit, the highest at the domaine ever, which Thibaut said combined all the elements of the vineyard together. There was just a slight reduction on the nose, though underneath lies intense blackberry and raspberry fruit, hints of truffle and cedar and then later subtle white flower scents. This seems to gather momentum in the glass, and it fans out beautifully on the regal finish. It will clearly require some time in bottle, so find a berth for this in your cellar and then forget about it. Not forever. Just say 8 to 10 years for it to show its pedigree." - Neal Martin (29th Dec 2017)
