93 Points - Vinous:
"The 2008 Blanc de Blancs d'Aÿ, in the magnum late-release, is an absolutely gorgeous wine that brings together the natural richness of Aÿ with plenty of vintage 2008 vibrancy. Dried pear, crushed flowers, mint and spice infuse the 2008 with striking layers of nuance. Aÿ is, of course, best known for Pinot, but in a few choice spots Chardonnay shines, as it does here. Chiquet's Blanc de Blancs d'Aÿ is once again one of the most singular wines in all of Champagne. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. Disgorged: March, 2018." Antonio Galloni - (Dec 2019)

"The NV (2012) Brut L'Etonnant Monsieur Victor is a blend of equal parts 2012 Chétillons and 2011 Réserve Oubliée base aged on cork. Tropical overtones give this release an especially exotic feel that is hugely alluring. Apricot, hazelnut, mint, tangerine oil, white flowers and passionfruit are some of the many notes that build through to the rich, creamy finish. This is a fabulous edition of the Etonnant Monsieur Victor. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. Disgorged: December, 2018. " Antonio Galloni - (Dec 2019)

94 Points - Antonio Galloni (2006 Vintage):
"Bara's 2006 Brut Grand Cru Comtesse Marie de France, 100% Pinot Noir, is superb. Ample and creamy on the palate, with terrific freshness and overall intensity, the 2006 is incredibly expressive today. Hints of lemon confit, chamomile, dried herbs, yellow orchard fruit and dried flowers all grace this exquisite, inviting Champagne. The 2006 has enough pedigree and class to drink well for another decade or more. I loved it. Disgorged: March, 2018. Dosage is 8 grams per liter." - Antonio Galloni (Nov 2018)

96 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"While still young, this Champagne has all the makings of greatness. Produced from grand cru vineyards, it already balances ripe white fruits with a firm structure that will age well. It's relatively dry and has plenty of acidity, which will also aid in the longevity. Drink from 2022. Roger Voss" - (12/1/2019)

98 Points - James Suckling:
"Such attractive, fresh, floral aromas here with fine bread, hints of white almonds and a lemon edge. White cherries and strong, chalky minerals, too. The palate has a very composed feel. Seamless and quite silky texture with effortless length and flow. Very fluid and composed. Very late, warming almond flavors. This is very long and smooth with a velvety finish. Super long pinot weight. Resolved and drinkable, but will age so well." - (12 Jul, 2019)

About the Wine:
Aged for more than 20 years in his private cellar and revealed now in 2018, Rare Le Secret is the most unique creation of Régis Camus, Rare Champagne’s Cellar Master.

Unlike other vintages of Rare Champagne, Rare Le Secret has no dosage, leaving it with a distinctive identity, enhanced by a second fermentation of over twenty years.

Tasting Notes:
Challenging and expressive.
Emblematic of the Rare Champagne style, Régis Camus blended Rare Le Secret with an added touch of boldness!

THE EYE: STUNNING
Elegant bubbles rise in a dazzling dance of delicate effervescence.

THE NOSE: MEMORABLE AND DELICATE
Rare Le Secret is defined by exceptional depth and complexity: scents of liquorice, candied tropical fruits and bergamot mingle with a fragrance of dried fruit and powdered flowers.
Something extraordinary for Rare Champagne then emerges: a nuance of fresh cream heightened by spices, sandalwood, and lime blossom tea. Finally, a bouquet of lychee and violets is released, guiding Rare Le Secret towards redolent scents of rum, smoked tea and incense.

THE PALATE: LIVELY AND EXOTIC
Following a crisp attack of lemon and citrus fruit, hints of fresh apricot, and verbena exude a soothing minerality. Touches of acacia honey and incense develop a smoky, exotic vinosity with an infinite, structured and forceful finale that is almost ethereal. Due to the absence of sugar and its recent disgorging, Rare Le Secret is expressive, precise, and yet complex. Unforgettable.

Exactly 200 years ago, Madame Clicquot innovated and completely re-created the rosé champagne of the time. She had an audacious new vision in which color, taste, and aroma were vital to the quality. So she broke with accepted norms, and re-created the process of making rosé champagne.

Madame Clicquot was very fond of red-wine grape parcels from the Bouzy region of Champagne, and she elaborated her own red wine from the area. Inspiration struck, and in 1818 she decided to blend this with her still white wines. The result was a stronger rosé champagne, with definite character. Her talent in re-creation gave us the first known blended rosé champagne: Veuve Clicquot Rosé!

Madame Clicquot’s vision for her blended rosé champagne was a wine with character – in taste, aroma, and color. To achieve it, the blend was an essential element, a creative act.

Today, as in 1818, Veuve Clicquot Rosé is a fine example of our House’s blending savoir-faire. Cellar Master Domonique Demarville and his team of experts select excellent quality red wines and still wines from some of the most sought-after vineyards in Champagne, to find the flavors and characteristics that perfectly express the Veuve Clicquot Rosé style.
