94 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"A great success from a challenging vintage, the 2013 Pegau is as aromatic as ever, loaded with scents of garrigue, smoke and saddle leather. Those are backed by ample dark-fruit flavors, hints of grilled meat and firm, dusty tannins. Drink 2018–2030. Joe Czerwinski" - (5/1/2017)

90-92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Starting with a 2015 barrel sample, Versino’s 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape is a classic blend of 75% Grenache, 10% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, and the balance Counoise and Cinsault, all of which was aged in foudre. It’s healthy ruby color is followed by earthy, slightly funky notes of peppery herbs, dark fruits and garrigue, which improves with time in the glass. Better on the palate, it has plenty of fruit, a full, layered mid-palate and ample tannic grip on the finish. This is a classic, old-school beauty that will need short-term cellaring and have 15 years of overall longevity." - Jeb Dunnuck (28th Oct 2016)

96 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"This delivers a lush, enticing blast of cassis and raspberry and boysenberry preserve flavors, carried by a silky structure that lets the fruit play out at length, giving adequate time for black tea, singed apple wood, dried anise and fruitcake notes to fill in throughout. Dreamy. Grenache. Best from 2020 through 2040. 600 cases made." - JM (February 2018)

Notes from the Winemaker:
Beautiful dark red robe. Plum fruit and blackberries combine on the nose, licorice and a little dark spice. It reveals garrigue, local attributes, herbs. The palate content is compressed, and isn’t yet on an open stage. There is spicing, a flavor of prunes, some still grippy tannins. It has the structure to evolve into a second stage, and is a table wine with local grounding, a sense of place. The finish is still firm. The aftertaste is spicy.

94-97 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"As always, the 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes is all Grenache from the Cristia Haut Lieu-dit that was brought up in 30% new demi-muid. It shows more classic Grenache characteristics in its black raspberry, crushed violets, pepper, and garrigue aromas and flavors. These carry to a medium to full-bodied, ripe, concentrated wine that strays straight and focused, with beautiful tension and elegance." - Jeb Dunnuck (8/16/2019)

94-96+ Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"Still aging in older barrels, the 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Renaissance checks in as a normal blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvèdre from 110-year-old vines and the sandy soils of the lower Cristia lieu-dit. It's a sexy, ripe, opulent effort that has loads of ripe blackberry, pot roast, chocolate, and incense aromas and flavors. Ripe, powerful, and decadently textured, it's a full-bodied, rich, beautiful wine that has ripe tannins, some oak to integrate, and a great finish." - Jeb Dunnuck (8/16/2019)

"Rather Burgundian in feel, with alluring cherry sauce, plum compote and raspberry coulis flavors, backed by a twinge of licorice. A violet hint lingers at the end, giving this additional grace and length. Drink now through 2025. 224 cases imported." – JM (Nov 15, 2015)

95-97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
“A tremendous effort, might Beaucastel's 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape outshine even the 2016? I tasted a preliminary blend that Marc Perrin said represented 80% of the wine, and it showed ridiculous floral and fresh aromas of licorice, lavender and spice, all backed by tremendous fruit that went beyond black and red and into hints of exotic stone fruit. The final blend will likely contain more than 10% Counoise, the highest proportion ever utilized at the estate. It's rich and concentrated yet silky and lithe, with a fantastically long, elegant finish." – Joe Czerwinski (Aug 2018)
