97 Points & Cellar Selection - Wine Enthusiast:
"Aromas of exotic spice, baked plum and French oak mingle with camphor and blue flower on the nose. This boasts extraordinary elegance and freshness despite the hot vintage, delivering flavors of juicy Marasca cherry, spiced blueberry, tobacco and licorice. Velvety, fine-grained tannins provide support while coffee and crushed mint linger on the finish. Drink 2022–2032." - KK (7/1/2020)

98 Points - James Suckling:
"There’s something ethereal in the nose with flowers, cherries, strawberries and shitake mushrooms. Full body. This grows on the palate with super tannin and fruit structure. So much berry flavor and round, caressing tannins that fill your mouth. Tight at the end. This needs four to five years to show its true greatness. Try after 2023." - (15 Sep, 2019)

96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Fornace is a beautiful expression with an impressive level of confidence and individuality. The wine's color is a bit darker compared to its peers and its concentration is similarly thicker. But that extra padding does not take away from the inner elegance and finesse displayed here. Aromas embrace red rose petal, licorice, grilled herb and forest floor. The oak rendering is evident but not obvious: Dark smoke, crushed granite and ash give the wine a savory side. Its evolutionary track has no place to go but forward and the wine won't reach its drinking window for another three to five years." - Monica Larner (Feb 2015)

97 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"This complex red shows a duality between the aromas of rose, strawberry and currant and the savory notes of earth, tobacco and mineral. The muscular structure is more allied to the latter, but this remains fresh, resonant and long. You could match this to a grilled steak now or let mellow for a few years. Best from 2019 through 2035. 700 cases made." – BS (12/7/16)

98 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is a striking wine that shows uncompromising varietal pureness, albeit in a most concentrated and elaborate form. This is what great Sangiovese is all about. There's so much happening on the nose and the wine brings you to cherry, spice, licorice, cured meat, pressed rose and grilled meat in equal measure. No one element overpowers the next. The mouthfeel is also tight and bright with the kind of fruit intensity that promises long cellar aging. This Brunello is only at the beginning of a long road ahead. The longer the wine stays in the glass, the more it offers in terms of complexity and intensity. This is a true standout that can be enjoyed for up to 20 years ahead.

Fabrizio Bindocci and his son Alessandro are the most accomplished father-son winemaking team I can think of today in Italy. Il Poggione is owned by Leopoldo and Livia Franceschi, but the phenomenal Bindocci duo are very much in the limelight. They excel in every aspect of winemaking, from vineyard management to wine marketing. Never have I encountered a Il Poggione Brunello as beautiful as the one released this year. This is one of the highest expression of Sangiovese you will ever taste." - Monica Larner (Feb 2015)

90 Points - James Suckling:
"I like the pretty tangerine and citrus character here, which works well with the main attraction of red berries and spices. Light to medium body, fine tannins and a fruity finish. A blend of sangiovese, merlot, sangiovese and cabernet sauvignon. Drink now. Screw cap." - (12 Apr, 2019)

About the Wine:
The non vintage, lot 1/18, Cerbaiona Rosso VDT is a 100% Sangiovese. It is a blend of wines predominately from the 2015 vintage (70%) and in smaller part from 2013 (30%). 15.000 bottles were produced. The appellation laws state, with obvious reason, that the blending of more than 17% of a wine from another vintage requires that the blended wine no longer carry a vintage on the label and be classified only as VDT (vino da tavola). The lot number, in this case, indicates that the wine was bottled in January 2018.

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Lots of big, dark fruit and a lack of water in the grapes define the unique personality of the 2017 Le Volte dell'Ornellaia. This is a highly extracted and succulent expression that delivers abundant fruit sweetness. The key to this vintage was waiting for proper ripeness, says estate manager and winemaker Axel Heinz. "The grapes continued to get smaller throughout the summer," he says. That lack of water resulted in very concentrated fruit, giving this entry-level wine a rich and modern feel as a result." - Monica Larner (18th Apr 2019)

95 Points - Vinous:
"Bright deep red. Musky, bracing aromas and flavors of red cherry and orange peel, tarragon and violet. Full and tactile, with racy acidity giving the wine’s deep flavors real cut and grip. Finishes with lingering saline nuances on the clean, refined back end. A rather uncompromising style of Brunello, but very true to type; this will also age extremely well. Capanna has always made excellent solid, traditional Brunellos, but it strikes me as being an estate on a real roll of late." Ian D'Agata - (Apr 2020)
