92-94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The approachable 2018 PSI shows the progression they have made in this wine, which has seen a jump in quality since they built their own winery, where they could work much better. After the frost of 2017, they were again able to use some 10% of Garnacha, which, in this wine, adds freshness, fruit and not a lot of tannin and contributes to lower the pH. It's very juicy and very clean and precise, fresh like biting into a bunch of ripe grapes, and it developed notes of violets as the wine sat in the glass. The texture is similar to 2016; the wine is more layered. It's still a baby and shows the baby fat, and the wine is currently in oak vat and should continue its élevage for a further eight months. The wine should be bottled in the summer of 2020 and released at the end of 2020. There will be some 340,000 bottles, which is their maximum possible to produce in the current facilities." - Luis Gutiérrez (30th Dec 2019)

"Always a good value in Ribera and cropped from a fresher year, the 2016 Pruno has notes of licorice, dark berries and even some fresher red fruit. It has abundant, fine-grained tannins that require powerful food. 524,330 bottles and 2016 magnums produced. It was bottled in November 2017." - Luis Gutiérrez (31st Aug 2018)

95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"This wine was re-tasted prior to this report with similar descriptors to my previous tasting for a report I published earlier this year and the score was the same. A non-vintage blend of three different years and released in 2018, the NV Único Reserva Especial 2018 Release is composed of a blend of 58 barrels from the vintages 2005, 2006 and 2007, younger vintages than the Reserva Especial bottlings from yesteryear. It feels young and not that far away from the current vintage of Único, 2006, which is released at the same time as this. It's mostly Tempranillo with some Cabernet Sauvignon, where the aim is to keep a constant character across the different releases. It has a classical profile, with polished tannins and nice subtlety. Comparing it with the 2006 Único, it doesn't seem to have the same elegance, depth and complexity. 17,200 bottles and 216 magnums were filled in June 2014." - Luis Gutiérrez (31st Aug 2018)

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"2016 is an extraordinary vintage for Dominio del Águila, and the 2016 Pícaro del Águila Clarete is their finest to date. Their flagship "clarete" is produced with a blend of white and red grapes (35% Tempranillo, 35% Albillo and the rest of mixed varieties). They recovered this ancestral style of wine in the zone of Aranda de Duero, produced with grapes from very old organically farmed vineyards where there are a lot of varieties mixed in the field (Garnacha, Bobal, Bruñal, Monastrell, Tempranillo Gris, other Albillos, Garnacha Blanca, Pirulés, Jaén, Moscatel, Malvasías...), and they all fermented together with Tempranillo and the white Albillo to create what they describe as "a wine that is not a rosé and has aromas of white and the spirit of a red." The clusters are pressed directly and the must settles in concrete in their ancient caves, then it ferments slowly (over eight to nine months) in oak barrels, where the wine matured for a total of 17 months. This is a wine that ages magnificently in bottle, and together with the rosé from López de Heredia (that technically is also a "clarete"), these are the two most characterful and best pink wines produced in Spain today. This 2016 in particular could be the freshest and closer to a white, with citrus notes and a vibrant palate, and the oak is better integrated than ever. 9,830 bottles and 190 magnums were filled in February 2018." - Mr. Luis Gutiérrez (30th Dec 2019)

96 Points - James Suckling:
"Very impressive red plums and the Alion has a very approachable feel to it, supple and even. The nose delivers some savory, slightly tarry and earthy character with a classic, direct and easy-to-understand feel. Some dried flowers, too. The palate has medium body and delivers fleshy, round red cherries, gently savory, spicy elements and fine, long and detailed tannins. A great Alion, full of flavor, very fresh. Drink across the next 15 years." - (21 Jun, 2018)

"A very structured and intense Pintia with lots of blackberry, chocolate and cedar character. Full body. Yet, it’s more refined than in past vintages. One of the more balanced bottlings from this winery. Delicious already. Available in 2020. Better after 2021." - (28 Jun, 2019)

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2014 Pintia matured in 75% French and 25% American oak barrels for approximately one and a half years. It is a slightly riper year than 2013, and the wine is more powerful but at the same time I found it extremely aromatic, expressive and open, quite typical from Toro. It is a more elegant style, with less rusticity, and the tannins are fine-grained, present and quite abundant but also quite round. It has a great mouthfeel, with the wild berry, aromatic herbs and spicy flavors lingering in your mouth. This is a great vintage for Pintia. With time in the glass, it still shows some smoky undertones that make it feel quite young. 177,477 bottles and some larger formats produced. It was bottled in April 2016." - Luis Gutiérrez (31st Jan 2019)
