94 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"A rather shy nose reveals nothing but slight notes of citrus. The palate then fills out with subtle but convincing notes of fresh sage, lemon pith, celery salt and yeast. Lemon highlights keep this on the ultrafresh side, but the savory yeastiness provides a lovely balance." - ANNE KREBIEHL MW (March 2019)

92 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"This wine's combination of ivy leaf and golden pear scents makes for a highly seductive nose. On the palate, bright, ripe lemon takes center stage. It lends an appetizing accent of freshness that complements the yeasty texture of the concentrated midpalate." - AK (Mar 2018)

Notes from the Importer:
A classified site, loess over calcareous deposits from the Alps, the vineyard is steep and warm. Often Erich’s Rieslings from here have (in my view) succumbed to rather more botrytis and alcohol than was good for them, but this ’16 may be the best Riesling in the modern history of this estate.

It soars into another whole orbit, and can easily play among the top Rieslings of the Krems and Kamptal. Lavish green aromas (balsam, lime zest, wintergreen); solid structure – the fit and finish are tight; juicy flavor but firm texture, with nuances of anise hyssop. What an achievement! And all for the price of a Federspiel from the Wachau. –Terry Theise

91 Points - Antonio Galloni:
"The site-typical floral dimension here penetratingly and muskily suggests buddleia and narcissus, which continue to inflect juicy apple, lime, honeydew melon and white peach on a satiny palate. Cooling green herb notes add to the soothing though refreshing effect of a sustained finish. This is demure today in comparison with the corresponding Steinmassl as well as to its two immediate sibling bottlings of Bründlmayer Heiligenstein. But it should eventually take a prominent place in the long line of memorable and ageworthy wines from these parcels." - David Schildknecht (January 2015)

92 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"This wine's shy nose offers mere hints of salty yeast. On the palate, the saltiness becomes more pronounced and is joined by white pepper and fresh lemon brightness. Ripe pear notes round it all out and let the pepperiness tingle on the finish." - AK (Sep 2018)
