"From a cooler terroir of sandy soils just beside the domaine, the 2016 Gigondas Le Lieu Dit is another tour de force from this brilliant estate. It sports a medium ruby color as well as a rocking bouquet of kirsch, blackberry liqueur, rose petals, damp earth, incense, and spice. Ultra-fine, seamless, elegant, and pure, it's nevertheless powerful and rich, with awesome intensity. Readers need to snatch up this blockbuster." - Jeb Dunnuck (9/26/2018)

"Looking at the classic cuvee, the 2015 Gigondas is a wine that readers should buy by the case. A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and the balance Mourvèdre and Cinsault, it offers up gorgeous notes of black raspberry, fruit tart, spice and incense in a medium to full-bodied, ultra pure, seamless style that just begs to be drunk. It will keep for over a decade." - 228, The Wine Advocate (30th Dec 2016)

95 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The finest white I’ve tasted from this estate is unquestionably the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Gallimardes and it should be snatched up by savvy readers. Loaded with notions of white peach, buttered citrus, spice and loads of crushed rock-like minerality, it’s rich, layered and textured, yet also vibrant and pure. Bravo!" - Jeb Dunnuck (10/19/2017)

"Looking at the two whites, both are noteworthy. First, the 2016 Côtes du Rhône Blanc Les Sables d'Arène comes from sandy soils in Lirac and offers tons of licorice as well as notes of white peach and pineapple, medium-bodied richness, good acidity and a layered, balanced style." - Jeb Dunnuck (10/19/2017)

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2010 Vintage):
"The 2010 Salanques is a blend of 65% Garnacha and 25% Carinena from old vines and 10% young-vine Syrah aged for 14 months in 50/50 new and used French oak barrels. The nose has floral and fruit aromas with the oak adding just a spicy touch and the slate soil taking the leading role. The palate is extremely tasty, with pungent aromas and flavors that are long and persistent with the help of the well-integrated alcohol, finishing with a mineral taste that makes it almost salty. A great Salanques and quite good price for this quality in Priorat. 18,000 bottles were produced. Drink now-2022." - Luis Gutierrez (Feb 2014)

Notes from the Winemaker:
After fermentation has started there is no mechanical interaction such as pigeage or remontage; we just leave the grapes to ferment gently and slowly. When the fermentation is complete we press the grapes, removing all the sugar from the whole grapes and then fermenting them dry in a second fermentation without the skins. The result is a very fine, complex and fluid expression of all the different terroirs we work with.

100 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"Reminding me of the 2010 with its incredible stature and class (as opposed to the more opulently styled 2009), the 2016 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is a legendary wine from the genius of Bruno Borie, who has managed this estate brilliantly since he arrived in 2003. A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot brought up all in new oak, the 2016 has a mammoth bouquet of crème de cassis, espresso, camphor, crushed violets, toasty oak, and graphite. Full-bodied, concentrated, and backward on the palate, it nevertheless has perfectly integrated acidity and building tannins, a concentrated, layered texture, off-the-charts purity of fruit, and a finish that won't quit. Give this powerful, concentrated wine a solid 7-8 years of bottle age and enjoy it over the following 50 years or more." - Jeb Dunnuck (2/28/2019)
