95 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"(5% whole clusters and 30% new French oak) Deep bright-rimmed red. A highly complex, mineral-tinged bouquet evokes candied red fruits, cola, Asian spices, mocha and potpourri. Seamless and sharply delineated on the palate, offering appealingly sweet Chambord, rose pastille and spicecake flavors that deepen on the back half, with no loss of energy. Fine-grained tannins frame a strikingly long, smooth, smoke-accented finish that leaves a juicy raspberry note behind." - Josh Raynolds (Jan 2019)

96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2014 Zinfandel Aida Estate (2014 is a somewhat better vintage for Zinfandel than 2013) from 40-year-old vines, comes across like a French Rhône Valley Châteauneuf du Pape. Loads of lavender, Provençal herbs, pepper, blackcurrants and black cherries soar from the glass of this dense, purple wine, which is a blend of 88% Zinfandel and 12% Petite Sirah from the rocky soils of the Aida estate. It is deep, full-bodied and aged 20 months in 500-liter French puncheons. This is a fabulous Zinfandel and one of the finest I tasted in what is a strong vintage for Zinfandel. Unfortunately, only about 300 cases were made." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Oct 2016)

"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Zinfandel Aida Estate is a little youthfully reticent to begin, opening out to reveal bags of preserved black cherries, dried mulberries, prunes and chocolate mint suggestions with nuances of kirsch, spice box, underbrush and tilled soil plus a waft of rose hip tea. Full-bodied and boldly fruited in the mouth, it has a firm frame of plush tannins and fantastic freshness lifting the seductive spiced berry preserves layers to a long, earth-laced finish." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (29th Oct 2018)

96 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The 2016 Cabernet Franc Estate is even better and is a sensational expression of Cabernet Franc! Coming all from the Crocker Vineyard outside of St. Helena and aged 21 months in 80% new French oak, it offers classic Franc blue fruits, purple iris, dried herbs, and hints of chocolate on the nose. These carry to a medium to full-bodied, incredibly elegant wine that has silky tannins, the purity of fruit that makes 2016 such a compelling vintage, perfect balance, and a great finish. Count me impressed. Readers should snatch up this beauty, which should keep for 15-20 years." - Jeb Dunnuck (1/31/2019)

"Very deep garnet-purple, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon 29 Estate has a wonderfully complex nose chock full of smoked meat, yeast extract, toast, sautéed herbs and savory notes over a crème de cassis and blackberry tart core with hints of violets, damp loam and black truffles. Full-bodied, concentrated and full-on opulent in the mouth, the palate is laden with savory, earth and dark fruit layers with a velvety frame and lively lift on the long finish. 670 cases were made." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (29th Dec 2017)

"A barrel sample (mainly from the Hyde clone), the 2017 Chardonnay la Carriere has a drop-dead gorgeous nose of dried apricots, warm pineapple, guava and pear tart with hints of candied ginger, honeycomb and orange blossoms. The palate is medium to full-bodied, rich and creamy with great freshness and some mineral accents coming through on the long finish. 2,560 cases are expected to be produced, to be released in February 2019." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (29th Oct 2018)

"A blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 13% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot, the very deep purple-black colored 2016 Les Pavots Proprietary Red Wine sings of crushed blackcurrants, blueberry preserves and blackberry pie with hints of camphor, black soil, truffles, crushed rocks and red roses plus a touch of garrigue. Full, rich and with wonderful finesse in the mouth, it has very finely grained tannins and plenty of vivacity, finishing long and earthy. 3,700 cases produced, to be released in the spring of 2019." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (29th Oct 2018)

96 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"The 2015 Ulysses brings together the richness of the year with a good bit of underlying support. Dark and powerful in the glass, but with silky tannins and striking purity of fruit, the 2015 is a wonderfully complete wine. Black cherry, plum, gravel, lavender, and menthol give the 2015 many of its aromatic and flavor signatures. Readers will find much to admire in the 2015. The interplay of aromatics, fruit and structure places Ulysses among the finest wines of the vintage." - Antonio Galloni (Mar 2018)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2015 Xinomavro Hedgehog Vineyard was aged for 12 months in an equal mixture of new and second use French oak and comes in at 12.8% alcohol. If you want to know why this region and grape have a reputation for acidity, this issue certainly shows you. This is one good example. Alpha's Axia is another and the Kir-Yianni Kali Riza yet a third. Silky yet fruity, without a lot of concentration but with enlivening lift to the fruit and plenty of power, this has all those old-school Xinomavro nuances of earth and amber to go with the big hits of acidity. These types of Xinomavro make me think "Nebbiolo" every time. In fact, this often seems to have more rusticity than Alpha's upper-level (and typically more refined) Vielles Vignes bottling. When these old-school types come down the road, you are best off letting them rest a bit and coming back in a few years. The acidity and tannins will preserve them for a long time, perhaps longer than expected, so there is no rush. This is a fine value that does a lot of great things that wines in this price category often do not—but you will need some patience, and it does have to be your style." - Mark Squires (29th Jun 2018)

89 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2017 Malagouzia Turtles Vineyard is unoaked and comes in at 13.2% alcohol. As with most of the better versions of this grape, it is fun just to smell. It could, perhaps, use a little more intensity, but the purity of fruit is impressive, and the concentration is reasonable for the grape. Particularly enjoyable are the dry, controlled bursts of pear and peach mingling together on the finish. I wouldn't say this is their best-ever version, but it is still a hard-to-resist, refreshing white at a nice price. As always, drink it young and fresh for best results. It will be great this summer." - Mark Squires (29th Jun 2018)
