99 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"From the estate that proved the extraordinary quality of the Ravera subzone, this compelling wine opens with heady scents of rose, iris, perfumed berry, new leather and camphor. Focused and full bodied, the precise palate is delicious and firmly structured, featuring ripe red cherry, crushed raspberry, licorice and tobacco framed in tightly knit fine-grained tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it beautifully balanced and lends youthful tension. Drink 2024–2056." Kerin O’Keefe (9/1/2020)

Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Best from 2023 through 2037. 2,400 cases made, 500 cases imported." — JM (Nov 15, 2019)

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Disgorged in January 2018, Vilmart's new 2012 Brut Emotion is showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with aromas of orange oil, red berries, yellow plums and toasted almonds. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it's racy and incisive, with chalky structuring extract and a pillowy mousse, concluding with a penetrating finish. It's a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from 45-year-old vines, vinified in barrels for 10 months without malolactic fermentation." - William Kelley (17th Sep 2020)

92-95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"All three 1994s are backward, well-built, tannic wines meant to last for two decades or more. I suspect they will be among the least flattering wines to taste when released. The most impressively-endowed wine of the three is the 1994 Volcanic Hill Cabernet Sauvignon. The color is opaque purple. The wine offers a glorious display of blackcurrant, plum, and blueberry fruit gently infused with toasty oak. The roasted, smoky, richness of this wine is immediately apparent when it hits the palate. There are layers of ripe, unctuously-textured fruit, full body, and hard hitting tannin in the finish. It is backward, rich, and extremely impressive.” - (25th Apr 1996)

93 Points - James Suckling:
"Aromas of wet earth and spices with sweet tobacco and currants. Fresh herbs. Medium body and ultra-fine tannins. Lively and bright. Better in 2020 but already a joy to drink." (Jan 2017)

96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 1994s might be ready to drink within 10-15 years. It is hard to believe these wines spend 30 months in oak casks before bottling as they are incredibly unevolved and backward when released. Look out for the behemoth 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain. This black/purple-colored wine adds a few more nuances (minerals, licorice, and floral scents) to the lavish display of creme de cassis. Full-bodied, with a blockbuster level of extract and density, this is an outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon for readers with patience, good genes for longevity, or the foresight to purchase it for their children. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2030." - (18th Dec 1997)

96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is similar in all respects to the Napa Valley, but somewhat heavier in the mouth, with an aggressive tannic bite, and more length. It possesses mineral-tinged blackberry and cassis fruit, massive body, and extraordinary purity and length. It should not be touched for 12-15 years. It will undoubtedly live through the first half of the next century." - (22nd Dec 1998)

96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain possesses a black/blue/purple color, and a texture of unctuosity and thickness. Greatness is suggested by a wonderfully sweet mid-section, gorgeous purity, and this humongous wine's overall symmetry. It also possesses sumptuous layers of concentration, remarkably sweet tannin, low acidity, and a 40+ second finish. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2040." - (31st Dec 1999)
