98 Points - James Suckling:
"Such attractive, fresh, floral aromas here with fine bread, hints of white almonds and a lemon edge. White cherries and strong, chalky minerals, too. The palate has a very composed feel. Seamless and quite silky texture with effortless length and flow. Very fluid and composed. Very late, warming almond flavors. This is very long and smooth with a velvety finish. Super long pinot weight. Resolved and drinkable, but will age so well." - (12 Jul, 2019)

"Relaxed, balanced and supported by dense tannins, this touts aromas of leather, tobacco, wood paneling, iron, woodsy spices and smoky cherry fruit, with a finish that is long and expansive. Drink now through 2040. 3,300 cases made, 500 cases imported." - BS (Issue Oct 31, 2019)

"Backwards and traditional in style, this red will require some time to find equilibrium and reveal all its facets. Shows purity to the core of cherry, currant, leather and earth flavors, finishing firm and long. Best from 2021 through 2036. 1,200 cases imported." — BS (Oct 31, 2018)

99 Points - James Suckling:
"The concentration and largesse of the 2016 Pichon Baron is apparent from the get-go with incredibly alluring, ripe and expansive fruit aromas in the blackberry, dark-cherry, mulberry and plum zone. Espresso and cedar, as well as a slate-like, stony mineral edge add complexity. The palate has incredible depth, drive and detail. Fine and plush tannins stretch the palate in every direction. So fresh and vivacious, this is the greatest Pichon Baron since 1989 and has a long future. Try from 2024." (Jan 2019)

96 Points & #8 Top 100 Wines of 2019 - Wine Spectator:
"This gushes with dark fig and black currant compote flavors backed by lively sweet tobacco and singed alder edges. Very fleshy in feel, though there's ample grip to keep this red grounded, echoing with tar and humus accents through the finish. A thumper. Best from 2025 through 2040. 13,500 cases made." —JM

"This sits very much in red-fruit territory with tulips, fragrant red plums, rose petals and a distinctive lavender edge. Light to medium body, tangy acidity and a fruity finish. Lighter style. Drink now." - (15 Apr, 2019)

98 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Hershey Vineyard fermented 77% in oak tanks, 16% in barrels and 7% in concrete. It spent 21 to 33 days on the skins and aged 27 months in French oak barrels. Deep garnet-purple in color, it delivers very serious, classic cassis, cedar chest, pencil shavings and warm plums notes with nuances of lavender, dark chocolate, tobacco and crushed rocks with a waft of black olives. Full-bodied, the palate is solidly structured with firm, chunky tannins and bold freshness supporting the densely packed, muscular fruit, finishing long and mineral-laced." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (30th Sep 2019)
