Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2013 Vintage):
"The 2013 Primofiore is a 50% blend of the indigenous grapes Corvina and Corvinone with 50% of the international grapes Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The grapes are air-dried for one month before being put into barrel for a year or more of aging. The wine opens to easy aromas of dark fruit, button mushroom, spice, tar and grilled herb. This is an upfront, food-friendly wine that has the crispness and delineation to pair with pasta or meat dishes. It should last healthily over the next five to eight years." - Monica Larner (31st May 2017)

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2004 Vintage):
"The 2004 Ca' del Merlo is slightly less generous than the expressive 2003. Make no mistake: Quintarelli's trademark elegance is on full display. This vintage delivers more in the mouth with a fuller, more generous mouthfeel and more firmness on the finish. Crushed mineral and forest berry is backed by a beautiful touch of acidity and integrated cherry. Drink 2014-2022.

In the years leading up to "Bepi" Quintarelli's death in 2012 from Parkinson-s disease, there was a lot of confusion over who was managing affairs at the winery. Understandably, getting samples was difficult and visitor requests often went unanswered. Giuseppe Quintarelli had been sick for a long time and his survivors include four daughters and a slew of grandchildren. More than a year after his death, it seems a new chapter has commenced. The winery has a new United States importer (Kermit Lynch) and Quintarelli's heirs Francesco and Lorenzo (both grandsons) with Giampaolo (son-in-law) are communicative and excellent professionals. I hope the Quintarelli star will continue to rise. I have reviewed the 2003 Amarone Classico here. The 2004 will be released in early 2014." - Monica Larner (Oct 2013)
