90 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous (2015 Vintage):
"Purple-ruby. Floral nuances and above-average vinosity on the nose and palate; violet and both red and black fruit nuances are bright and linger long on the aftertaste. Easygoing and silky smooth. Chill this a little and you’ll finish the bottle in the blink of an eye." - Ian D'Agata (Nov 2016)

"A dense and tarry red that glides on the silky palate, with mouthwatering acidity framing flavors of blueberry puree, chocolate-covered cherry, vanilla, dried thyme and oak spice. An expressive version in a modern style, yet refined and harmonious overall, with the grippy finish echoing the ripe fruit and tarry mineral character. Drink now through 2027. 5,000 cases made." – AN (Dec 15, 2016)

"A velvety-textured red with lots of dried-fruit, hazelnut and walnut undertones. Full and flavorful but rich and chocolatey. This is just a baby now. Needs three or four years to soften: better in 2017." - (Friday, March 13, 2015)

92 Points - Antonio Galloni:
"The 2009 Montevetrano is quite possibly the most accessible young vintage of this wine I have ever tasted. I am accustomed to Montevetranos that are tight and austere, but not in 2009. In 2009 Montevetrano is open and radiant, with layers of dark fruit and a polished, well-articulated finish. The 2009 is likely to be an early drinker, but that doesn't necessarily mean the wine will age quickly. A complete vertical tasted last year and published in Issue 190 found the wines in great shape, including all of the earliest vintages. Montevetrano is approximately 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Aglianico that spent 12-14 months in French oak, 50% new. It remains a benchmark in southern Italian oenology. - Antonio Galloni (June 2011)

96 Points - Antonio Galloni:
"The 2010 Montevetrano is flat-out gorgeous. Vibrant, floral aromatics lead to layers of beautifully delineated fruit in this finely sculpted chiseled Montevetrano. A wine of extraordinary beauty, the 2010 impresses for its clarity and nuance. I don't think I have ever tasted a young Montevetrano with this much pure silkiness and finesse. There is a level of precision and delineation in the 2010 that is truly marvelous. I can't wait to see how it ages. The 2010 is also notable for a much higher percentage of Aglianico (30%) than has been common in the past, while the international varieties are less prominent in the blend. In 2010 Montevetrano is 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Aglianico and 20% Merlot, which means the Cabernet Sauvignon now plays a much smaller role in the blend." - Antonio Galloni (February 2013)
