Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Fogarty’s basic Pinot Noir is very good, although it’s not a wine for aging. With its soft dryness and rich tannins, it shows polished flavors of cherries, cola, herbs, cinnamon spice and subtle oak." — S.H. (6/1/2011)

Windy Oaks Estate was founded by Jim and Judy Schultze on 15 acres of vineyard located at 1,000 feet on a ridge overlooking the town of Corralitos and the Monterey Bay. Grapes for their Windy Oaks Whites are sourced from neighboring vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountain Appellation and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Almost all their grapes come from above the fog line and practices are very Burgundian, with non-interventionist winemaking,

Crisp and fruity, with hints of apple, some pineapple and white peach notes.

94 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"The 2015 Pinot Noir is fabulous. The decision to use 50% whole clusters, almost by necessity in 2015, resulted in a Pinot that is both rich in fruit and also aromatically lifted, not to mention also quite a bit more expressive of this site and the Santa Cruz Mountains more broadly. Deep and plush, as the wines from this site can be, but not at all heavy, Mindego Ridge's 2015 Pinot Noir is a total knock out. The saline-infused finish offers a compelling counter to the intense, pliant fruit. The whole clusters are very nicely integrated, even at this early stage. Quite simply, the 2015 Pinot is fabulous. Don't miss it." - Antonio Galloni (Aug 2017)

93 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"Mindego Ridge's 2015 Chardonnay is especially rich and opulent in this vintage. Apricot, peach, brioche, orange confit, tropical fruit and butter are all pushed forward. Exotic, bold and racy to the core, the Chardonnay has a lot to say. Readers should expect an extroverted, almost viscous style." - Antonio Galloni (Aug 2017)

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Supple and stark aromas of black raspberry pressed into a thin juice along with sanguine iron elements greet the nose on this bottling. The palate shows bloody meats with anise seed, smoked raspberries and purple sage, yet the iron-driven minerality is most dominant." - Matt Kettmann (12/31/2015)

98+ Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous Media:
"One of the highlights in this tasting, the 2015 Monte Bello will soon take its place among the greatest Monte Bellos ever made. Powerful, deep and explosive, the 2015 possesses magnificent concentration and richness in every dimension. Even with all of its raciness, the 2015 has terrific aromatic presence and regal tannins. The 2015 is a bit less showy than it has been in the past, but it was also just bottled two weeks before this tasting. Readers who own it will be absolutely thrilled." - Antonio Galloni (Aug 2017)

95+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"While there won't be a 2015 released due to dismal yields, the 2014 Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard Hillside is an utterly profound wine. Tasting just like the straight Alpine Vineyard Pinot Noir, only more tannic and structured, this beauty boasts awesome notes of black raspberries, spring flowers, baking spices and crushed rocks, with a tight, backwards, concentrated style on the palate. It desperately needs 3-4 years of cellaring, but is a tour de force in Pinot Noir from California!" -- Jeb Dunnuck (28th Oct 2016)
