93 Points - James Suckling (2013 Vintage):
"Almost half/half, this is 51/49 cabernet shiraz from 2013 and shows strident blackberry, cassis, mocha and spice, some redder fruit nuances, chocolate and rough-sawn oak. The palate's sweetly fruited, tannins are chewy but not aggressive and the rich red to purple fruit flavors cover the mouth sweetly. Succulent, dusty tannin draw through the finish. This 389 is brazen and needs time's polish, best from 2021." - (Wednesday, January 27, 2016)

93 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Impressive, with a plush, seductive and succulent body, offering sink-your-teeth-into-them flavors of black cherry, blackberry and plum, accented by details of dark chocolate, rose petal and savory. Drink now through 2025. 5,000 cases imported." – MW (Jun 30, 2017)

98 Points & "Editors’ Choice" - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Full-bodied and plush yet vibrant and imbued with fresh fruit, this is simply superb. The oak is present but never dominant, adding brown sugar and cinnamon elements to blueberry, roasted meat, espresso and black olive notes. A hint of peppery spice also creeps into this impossibly complex wine. The finish combines power, length, freshness and dusty tannins, suggesting that while impressive now, it should age well. Drink now–2030." - Joe Czerwinski (4/1/2017)

97+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Run Rig opens with a bang, delivering intense fruits of the forest and blackberry preserve notes with hints of sandalwood, cardamom, dried Provence herbs, Indian spices and garrigue. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and oh, so satisfying, the beauty ticks all the great Barossa Shiraz boxes and then some. It is still relatively primary, so I’d recommend giving it another 2-3 years at least in bottle and drink it over the next 20+." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (31st Aug 2017)

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The full-bodied 2015 Descendant features layers of dark berry and plum fruit, scorched earth, black olives and roasted meat, among other things. It's dense, rich and concentrated, slowly developing in the glass to reveal hints of licorice and pepper on the firm finish." - Joe Czerwinski (Mar 2018)

97 Points - James Suckling:
"This is a wine of impressive depth and detail with a strong delivery of ripe and lively black cherries, blackberries, blood plums and mulberries. Dark chocolate, baking spices and tarry nuances, too. The palate has immensely powerful flavors that are faithfully guarded with long, deep tannins, carrying a very confident, sexy and convincing expression of great Barossa shiraz. A superb wine. Drink or hold." (August 14, 2018)

97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"There's no denying the power and concentration of Torbreck's 2013 The Laird. The fruit is impressive, the oak luxurious, the texture velvety, yet I can't help but wonder if it needs to spend that extra time in barrel. Complex notes of baking spices, licorice and pepper add nuance to the Christmas-cake flavors and somehow emerge savory on the long finish. It's a wonderful wine, but would I rather have three bottles of RunRig? Without question." - Joe Czerwinski (Mar 2018)
