93-95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Stereotypical Oz Shiraz to some extent, the 2016 William Randell Shiraz is big, ripe and heavily accented by American oak. Cedar and vanilla notes blend with rich, plummy fruit, those sweet notes brought together and balanced by savory dry tannins. It's a big-ass steak wine, one that will be appreciated by consumers at steakhouses around the world." - Joe Czerwinski (31st Aug 2018)

95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Made essentially like the Les Amis Grenache, Tobreck's 2017 The Pict Mataro handles the hefty oak complement much better. It kicks off with scents of strawberries and vanilla, then adds cola and dark berries on the full-bodied, creamy-textured palate. From vines planted in 1920, it spent two years in 50% new French barriques but remains fruit-driven and long on the finish. It's a beauty. No 2016 was made (smoke taint)." - Joe Czerwinski (27th Nov 2019)

93 Points - James Suckling:
"This has a very impressively fresh and vibrant nose with boysenberries and raspberries, as well as cherries on offer. There’s richness and ripeness to the palate here with a fresh, assertive yet very approachable palate. A blend of 73% shiraz (co-fermented with 5% viognier), 17% grenache and 5% mataro. Drink over the next eight years. Screw cap." - (16 May, 2019)

100 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"A blend of 98% Shiraz and 2% Viognier made just prior to bottling, the 2016 RunRig is a complete masterpiece. It kicks off with elegant notes of pencil shavings accenting blueberries and blackberries on the nose, then shows incredible, palate-staining intensity of fruit in the mouth. It's full-bodied, plush and velvety without being unstructured and manages to be fruit-forward yet savory on the long-lasting finish, where it picks up hints of mocha and black olives. This should be drinkable with pleasure throughout its entire two-decade life (it may live longer from cold cellars or in larger formats), but if I were lucky enough to have a bottle or two, I'd try the first one about 10 years out. Scheduled for June 2019 release." - Joe Czerwinski (28th Feb 2019)

100 Points - James Suckling:
"Much anticipated vintage for Grange and it is a powerhouse of concentration and complexity. Aromas of orange and lemon peel to start, then graphite, blackberries, plum paste, black cherries, boundless sweet oak spice, fresh cedar, tar, mahogany, roasted coffee and chocolate - the list goes on. Such complexity. Classic Grange, offering such deep, dark intensity. The palate has immense richness and depth with a super succulent and very long, fleshy, deeply weighted array of dense, velvet-wrapped tannins that run so long. The fruit flavors sit in the blackberry, blood-plum and blueberry zone with succulent, long and assertive structure, carrying through in an utterly seamless mode. The finish is tightly wrenched, in spectacularly powerful style, locking this wine in for a very long haul. Best from 2030." -

92 Points & BEST BUY - Wine & Spirits Magazine:
"The Clarke family farms 670 acres of vines in the Barossa and Eden valleys, which provide most of the fruit for its wines, including this blend from three vineyards. Shotfire isn't particularly complex, but it's satisfying and it hews to a classical profile of Barossa Shiraz: With scents of baking spices against earthy red fruit, this feels markedly cool and brisk. Decant it for flank steak or sautéed calf's liver with onions." - (2017)

97 Points - Decanter:
"2016 was an outstanding year, with an early, fine summer with daily sea breezes. Slightly above-average January and February temperatures were offset by a welcome 90mm of January rain. Markedly floral, there's a white blossom character to both nose and back-palate. It's a concentrated wine with gently granular fresh and dried pear notes, accompanied by silkier white peach. Succulent, ripe lemony acidity is well integrated and gently sheathed by nougat-inflected creamy lees. Lovely lithe mouthfeel and beautiful harmony. Drinking Window 2019 - 2035." - Sarah Ahmed (May 2019)

96 Points & #28 Top 100 Wines of 2019 - Wine Spectator:
"Refined and elegant, this white is supple, yet intense and precise, with lemon curd, apricot, honeycomb and mandarin orange flavors, accented by floral and mineral details. The secret weapon here is the sleek acidity, which weaves in and out, giving the flavors definition and verve. Drink now through 2034. 800 cases imported." — MW

94 Points - James Suckling:
"This sits in the typical, just cabernet-dominant style (54%) and marries cassis, blueberries, leaves and cedary-dominant aromas with more substantial blackberries and dark cherries, as well as redder tones at the finish. The regional sourcing here is cleverly played and delivers a fleshy, soft and smooth wine in 2017. Long, vanilla-laced after-trail. Drink over the next fifteen years. A stallion in the cellar!" - (25 Jul, 2019)

Notes From the Winemaker:
Amber tawny in color with an olive green hue, exhibiting aromas of rich toffee and caramels, sweet figs, chocolate, caramel and licorice spices with elegant brandy spirit and hints of nutty wood aged complexity. The palate is richly flavored featuring caramel crème brûlée with fine spirit characters and lingering flavors of dried fruits and nuts. The texture is sweet and smooth with roundness from the wood maturation and brandy spirit filling out the middle palate, providing the firm, drying finish. This is an outstanding dessert wine.
