99 Points - & #41 of Top 100 of 2020 - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The flagship release, the 2016 Syrah Royal City is all from the Stoneridge Vineyard on the Royal Slope (not far from the Frenchman Hills). It was not destemmed and spent 27 months in 60% new French oak. Offering a sensational bouquet of blackcurrants, baking chocolate, beef blood, toasted spice, and loamy earth, it builds slowly, with full-bodied richness, silky tannins, beautiful power and elegance, and a great, great finish, it's another magical wine from this team. 572 cases." - Jeb Dunnuck (April 2020)

97 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"From a site on Snipes Mountain composed of rocky, basalt soils (steep hillside slopes), the 2017 Syrah Cattle King is all Phelps clone that was not destemmed and was aged in 60% new oak. This deep ruby/plum-colored effort offers a complex bouquet of blackberries, mulberries, menthol, beef blood, and ground pepper. With a Cornas-like gaminess, medium to full body, and ripe, polished tannins, give it 2-3 years and enjoy over the following 10-15 years." - Jeb Dunnuck (4/15/2020)

93 Points - James Suckling:
"This has the wonderful, dark-fruit and olive character of a ripe cabernet sauvignon, but the polished tannins fold over the wine. It’s full-bodied, yet agile and focused at the finish. Real wine for the money. Drink now." (June 2020)

91 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"I loved the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Cs, which ranks with the finest releases to date for this cuvée. Classy cassis fruits, lead pencil, and tobacco notes all emerge from the glass, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannin, integrated oak, and a great finish. It makes a mockery of just about every other Cabernet Sauvignon in this price range. Buy a case and enjoy over the coming 4-6 years, probably longer." - Jeb Dunnuck (4/15/2020)

"Happy to see it finer-grained than some, but equally intense. Tobacco, ash and dark fruit. Some grilled meat, too. Full-bodied with a spice, white-pepper and hunan finish. Wow is all I can say! Drink or hold." - (November 16, 2020)

98 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The 2015 Reserve is a borderline perfect wine. Made from 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Malbec, and 8% Merlot, its vibrant purple color is followed by a gorgeous nose of crème de cassis, graphite, scorched earth, liquid violets, and charcoal. Full-bodied, deep, voluptuously textured and layered, with sweet tannin, this incredible beauty stays pure and elegant on the palate, with perfect balance. It's going to drink nicely for two decades as well." (Apr 2018)

94-96 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"Always dominated by Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Dead Horse’s deep, saturated purple color is followed by a textbook Cabernet nose of sweet crème de cassis, lead pencil shavings, dried earth, and hints of cigar tobacco. It's rich and full-bodied, with a beautiful texture and fine tannins." - Jeb Dunnuck (4/11/2019)

90-92 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"All from a northern slope in Olsen vineyard, the 2018 Chardonnay is still aging in 31% new French oak. It's a perfumed, exotic Chardonnay that has loads of lemon curd, tangerine, and floral aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, supple, and elegant, it has terrific purity and a clean finish." - Jeb Dunnuck (4/11/2019)
