91 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Potentially an aromatic wine that will develop a rich, velvety character. At this young stage, the fruit is dominated by firm tannins that sit at the heart of the wine. It has all the density for a good development, aging over 5–10 years." - Roger Voss" - (12/31/10)

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Tasted blind at Farr Vintners' horizontal tasting, the 2006 Alter Ego de Palmer has evolved a savoury bouquet with earthy, almost Saint Estèphe like aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with tart red cherry fruit, quite spicy yet harmonious with a ferrous, structured, tobacco-stained finish that lingers long in the mouth. After ten years, this seems to be à point, though it has the substance to give another 5-8 years of pleasure. Tasted April 2016." - (29th May 2016)

96 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Classic Lynch-Bages with just a bit of extra power and richness. While the tannins are structured, it is the velvety fruit that rolls around the mouth that is the most dominant character. It is coming together into a wine that will be big and dense, but never over the top." - Roger Voss (6/1/2008)

"This explodes on the nose with prunes, blackberries, mushrooms and fresh tobacco. Full body, ripe tannins and a juicy finish. Big and powerful. Still could do with a decade or more of aging." - (17 Nov, 2015)

98 Points - James Suckling:
"Freshly picked blackberries turn into minty dark chocolate and oozing caramel with domineering eucalyptus on the nose. It becomes yet more complex on the palate thanks to layers upon layers of spices and sage plus fat and rounded tannins. There's a long finish with a bitter aftertaste, suggesting this could do with another 10 years or more of bottle aging. This is a Mouton I found massive at the time, then elegant and slightly austere years later, but today true to its former glory. Like the amazing 1947, it should not be forgotten." - (17 Mar, 2015 )

95 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:

"This has both sinew and flesh, with taut dried red currant, blackberry and plum skin notes that are forced to expand outward as the core of black tea, charcoal, plum paste and dark humus fills in quickly behind them. The charcoal-tinged grip carries the finish, with more bass than treble at first, but there's perfume here as well. Seriously long and the most overlooked of the truly great vintages here.--Non-blind Château Margaux vertical (December 2013). Drink now through 2025. 25,000 cases made." - JM (Web Only - 2014)
