94 Points - Wine Enthusiast (2018 Vintage):
"This is a rich, highly aromatic vintage of Clos Henri’s Sauvignon. Like a nose full of dehydrated fruit (peaches and pineapples), candied ginger, pressed buttercups, grass and minerals, there’s a touch of oak influence here, too. Highly textural, the mouthfeel is rich and creamy but with vibrancy and freshness and a lengthy, tingly saline finish. A full-bodied, food-friendly drop now (try with a Thai curry), this has the ability to age until 2028" - Christina Pickard (September, 2020)

95 Points James Suckling:
A dark, brooding pinot that is reticent and introspective. Plenty of earth, mocha, dark chocolate, dark plum, slate, graphite and black cherry. The palate has deeply anchored power, and strapping, sturdy tannins are hinged to mocha-tinged black-cherry and blood-plum flavor. The finish runs out smooth, long and even. Drink in 2019. (October 2014)

97 Points - James Suckling:
"A deeply complex, graphite, and black-cherry nose with dark spices, rose hip, toasty oak, and sweet fresh-dug earth. The palate rolls through like a perfectly formed wave, delivering an arc of dark plum and cherry fruit. The tannins curl and twist on the finish before releasing a fresh surge of tangy plums. They hold long. This is a bold and impressive wine. Will peak around 2021 and hold for several years after." - (October 20, 2016)

97 Points- James Suckling:
A darker expression in 2013, this has deep, spiced complexity, with anise and other woody spices, a fragrant, perfumed lift, dark-purple florals and meaty nuances. There's plenty of depth. The palate has immense dark-fruit presence, with cherry and plum flavors. Tannins are powerfully striking but perfectly cloaked in deep fruit presence. Acidity is wired deep and adds turbo-like power to the finish. Drink in 2019. (Oct. 2014)

97 Points- James Suckling:
The clear and swirling whole-bunch aromatics here are really charming and bursting with attractive and complex pinot perfumes such as rose petals, sweet spices and bright red-tinged berry fruits. The palate has handy definition, light and shade, powerful yet reserved detail and long tannins that run in unison through a very focused, juicy and punchy crisp finish. I love this wine for its elegance and power; it's great pinot at its finest. Best from 2018. (Dec 2016)

97 Points - James Suckling:
The most brooding of the Escarpment pinot noirs, this has a dark, mineral nose with graphite and slate, building to earth-crusted herbs, toasted nuts, dark chocolate, glacé orange peel, wet earth and crushed violets. The complexity is deeply integrated. On the palate there's striking clarity and focus, and the tannins are fine-tuned, super-smooth and rippling with energy. They drive long, smooth, clear, while dark-cherry and plum fruit flavors run alongside and wash up through the finish. A classic rendition of pinot in the iron-fist-and-velvet-glove style. Drink in 2 019. (Oct. 2014)

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Medium ruby colored, the 2014 Te Rehua Pinot Noir displays a gorgeous core of cherries, pomegranate and forest floor with wild thyme and lavender hints. Crisp, firm and chewy in the mouth, it offers elegant fruit with great intensity, going savory/earthy in the long finish." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Dec 2016)

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2016 Vintage):
"While the company has invested enormously in its Central Otago Pinot Noir project, I continue to think the Marlborough wine is better, at least for the moment. The 2016 Pinot Noir is a silky, medium-bodied wine, loaded with raspberry and strawberry fruit. Hints of cola and spice add dimension and linger on the finish. It's 15% whole cluster and sees about one-third new French oak, but neither of those elements come across as dominating, they're subtler, mostly structural, components." - Joe Czerwinski (28th Feb 2018)

Notes from the Winemaker:
100% Marlborough, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Vibrant aromas of ripe citrus and tropical fruit lead to a refreshing palate full of white peach and grapefruit – classic flavors of the region. The bright aromas are accented with chalky, mineral tones then a deliciously satisfying finish. When you’re ready to head out, grab a bottle to take you where you dare.
