About the Wine:
Golden color with green reflections. Characteristic bouquet of Madeira with exotic wood, dry fruits, dates, vanilla, cacau and fine toasted oak. Medium sweet and full bodied, with a long toffee and vanilla aftertaste

MATURATION
Blandy’s Colheita Bual 2002 was aged for 12years in seasoned American oak casks in the traditional ‘Canteiro’ system, whereby the wine is gently heated by warm air in the lofts of the company’s south-facing lodge in Funchal. Over the years the casks are transferred from the top floor to the middle floor and eventually to the ground floor where it is cooler. The wine is regularly racked during the ageing process and is finally bottled when the desired balance of maturity is reached

92 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"As warmer weather approaches, this is a wine that should immediately come to mind at apéritif time. This bone-dry style, with its inimitable nutty character, is so fresh, so vibrant. It has some tannins, enlivening acidity giving a great lift at the end. Bring on the freshly salted, roasted almonds. Roger Voss"

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Sercial produces the driest style of Madeira. This is certainly a dry wine that gets its richness from concentration and the wood aging. It has spice and old-wood taste as well as wonderfully perfumed spirits and candied lemon. Drink now. Roger Voss" - (6/1/2017)

Smith Woodhouse Vintage Port 1994 (Portugal) - [RP 90]
Retail Price: $160.00
Artisan Wine Depot Price: $119.97
You save $40.03!

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"An under-rated producer, Smith-Woodhouse has turned out a port with an impressively saturated dark ruby/purple color. This powerful port is moderately sweet, forward, rich, and full-bodied, with nicely integrated alcohol and tannin. While it is not one of the vintage's blockbusters, it should be ready to drink in 3-5 years and keep for 15-20. Anticipated maturity: 1999-2018." (30th Oct 1996)

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2015 Touriga Nacional was aged for 16 to 18 months in new, light-toast French oak (two different vineyard plots averaging 35 years in vine age, fermented separately). A selection of the best barrels, it comes in at 14.4% alcohol. This is the first Touriga Nacional offering since the 2012. When first seen about a year ago, it was lovely. It is more aromatic and sensual now but still very unevolved. It still has that subtle concentration to make you feel every ounce of the fruit on the palate while never seeming jammy. The tannins are very ripe, making this easy to approach right now, but there is grip on the finish and the fruit lingers beautifully. It is very suave and refined. This has upside potential in the cellar. It is certainly a star. I'm not yet fully convinced it is a superstar, but it may one day get there. For the moment, let's be a bit conservative again. There were just 6,808 bottles produced, plus some large-format bottles." - Mark Squires (28th Feb 2019)
