"Essence of framboise is joined by layers of garrigue-like complexity, rich, meaty notes and a generous dusting of Asian five spice blend in the stunning 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage à Jacques Perrin. This is full-bodied but incredibly silky, combining great purity, richness and length into a seamless, elegant package that should give immense pleasure for decades to come." - Joe Czerwinski (30th Aug 2019)

97-99 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"Brought up in new demi-muids, the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes is a blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre (the Mourvèdre is from the Cristia lieu-dit). Unquestionably the greatest vintage of this cuvée ever made, this crazy good 2016 knocks it out of the park with its huge nose of currants, seaweed, incense, garrigue, and chocolate. Just a massive, deep, powerful wine, with sweet tannin and remarkable purity, it’s going to flirt with perfection and keep for 20-25 years. Bravo to the Maret family as well as consultant Philippe Cambie!" - Jeb Dunnuck (8/28/2018)

91 Points - Vinous:
"The 2018 Grenache John Sebastiano is a very pretty wine. Silky tannins wrap around a core of bright red fruit, flowers and cedar as varietal notes emerge effortlessly. Gracious, perfumed and polished, the Grenache is one of the many wines in this range readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off." - Antonio Galloni (Aug 2020)

94 Points - Vinous:
"The 2017 Syrah Roll Ranch is the most complete of the four 2017 Syrahs I tasted. The deeply-pitched aromatics are immediately captivating. There's plenty of depth to match, too. Dark red cherry fruit, cedar, leather, tobacco, menthol and dried flower all meld together in a Syrah that has it all: perfume, fruit and structure to burn. The 75-85% whole clusters (the most of the Ojai Syrah

93 Points - Stephen Tanzer:
"Bright ruby. Sexy, mineral-laced aromas of fresh red berries and potpourri, with a smoky element emerging slowly. Juicy and precise on the palate, with sweet raspberry and cherry flavors that put on weight with air. Fine-grained tannins give shape to the fruit-driven finish, which hangs on with real tenacity." - Josh Raynolds (February 2015)

93 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"(all old-vines garnacha; aged in a similar mix of barrels as the Veraton but for 22 months): Glass-staining ruby. Pungent aromas of cassis, blueberry, smoky minerals, potpourri, licorice and spicecake. Juicy, supple and perfumed on the palate, with bright acidity lifting black and blue fruit, violet pastille and allspice flavors. Finishes very long and gently tannic, with suave oak tones coming up slowly." - Josh Raynolds (Sep/Oct 14)
